CE CEO Leads donations to British Heart Foundation – May 2015

Chief Executive Officer of CE World, Tomas Gronager was recently asked to address a number of the leading hedge fund managers in the City of London regarding Facilities Management services.

Tomas’ appearance was not just an opportunity to pass on some of his considerable knowledge of the subject, but also a great chance to raise money for charity. On behalf of Tomas and CE World as a whole, over £250 was donated to the extremely worthy cause of the British Heart Foundation .

Tomas said of the contribution: “At CE World we are always looking for creative ways to raise money for charity. This event was the perfect opportunity to do just that and I am delighted to have contributed to a fantastic cause whilst meeting some great people at the same time”.

Nepal Earthquake Disaster – April 2015

CE World are pleased to donate £500 to the Nepalese disaster relief fund on behalf of our Nepalese staff who work for us across London and the rest of the UK at major events. We are deeply saddened by this event and offer our condolences to all and any of our Nepalese staff who may have lost or have had loved ones injured through this tragic natural disaster.

The 2015 Nepal earthquake (the Gorkha earthquake) has killed at least 6300 people and injured more than twice as many as of 30th April 2015. Occurring on the 25th April with a moment magnitude of 7.8, it’s epicentre lay in Barpak village of Gorkha district and its hypocentre was at a depth of approximately 15km (9.3 miles).

Demelza Children’s Hospice – February 2015

The Demelza Children’s Hospice supports children and young people (up to age 19) who are not expected to reach adulthood, offering support to their families.

Lewisham Shopping Centre has been actively supporting Demelza since 2008 and originally got involved with the charity after one of our security officer’s Richard Huntley’s nephew sadly passed away just 5 years old. He had been born with cerebral palsy and Demelza was able to provide respite care and support to the family.

Now in their sixth year of partnership with the charity, Lewisham have managed to raise over £50,000 and are confident they can hit the £60,000 mark by Easter Sunday! During that time they’ve organised annual Christmas parties, sponsored walks, a static bike ride from John O’Groats to Lands End, a sponsored sky dive, fundraisers, raffles, tombolas and have installed a permanent wishing well in the shopping centre which collects around £50 weekly!

Well done to all the staff at Lewisham for their contribution to this cause, you’ve raised an astonishing sum that will only get larger! Keep up the good work!

2014 London Marathon – April 2014

CE World’s Director of Risk completed his first marathon in April 2014. Bob, who has been with the company for over 5 years, completed the London Marathon in aid of Myositis UK as part of our annual charity fundraising activities.

The London Marathon is part of the World Marathon Majors and saw around 35,000 runners taking part this year in support of a variety of different charities. The 26 mile course is internationally renowned for being a tough challenge and Bob completed the course in a time of 5 hours 45 minutes.

Bob raised over £2000.00 for Myositis UK and was helped by the donation of a hospitality package at Birmingham City by CE World as part of the fundraising effort.

On behalf of everyone at CE World we would like to congratulate Bob not only in completing the marathon, but in making such an impressive donation to a wonderful cause. Well done Bob!
