Behind another successful summer of stadium concerts

July 10, 2026

As the football season comes to a close each year, many of the UK’s leading stadiums begin a rapid transformation into world-class live music venues. Behind every sold-out concert is an enormous operational effort, with venue teams working around the clock to prepare, support and restore sites before, during and after each event.

This summer, CleanEvent teams once again played a key role in delivering successful concert operations across some of the country’s most iconic venues, including Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Anfield, Manchester City’s Etihad Campus and St Mary’s Stadium. Together, these venues welcomed hundreds of thousands of music fans throughout a busy programme of international touring artists, placing significant demands on operations both on and off the stage.

Supporting stadium concerts requires a different approach to traditional sporting fixtures. From preparing venues for production crews and adapting cleaning schedules around complex build and break periods, to overnight recoveries and rapid turnarounds between events, our teams work alongside venue partners to help ensure every concert is delivered in a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

At Manchester City’s Etihad Campus, our team supported two sold-out performances by The Weeknd, with many colleagues experiencing their first major concert operation. Despite unpredictable weather and demanding timescales, the team adapted quickly, earning praise from Sportcity Management for their professionalism, dedication and ability to maintain high standards throughout the event.

Meanwhile, at Southampton FC’s St Mary’s Stadium, the successful delivery of two major concerts generated excellent feedback from the client, who thanked everyone involved for helping deliver “two fantastic events” and recognised the extensive planning, preparation and post-event recovery carried out behind the scenes.

Across every venue, whether supporting international music tours at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, welcoming thousands of fans to Anfield, or delivering concert operations at Manchester City and Southampton FC, our focus remained the same: providing flexible, responsive cleaning services that support exceptional guest experiences while enabling venues to operate efficiently throughout demanding event schedules.
