This year marked another successful chapter in our partnership with Transform Lives Company (TLC), as we welcomed participants to Aintree Racecourse for a dedicated recruitment event designed to help people take their first steps back into meaningful employment.
Following the success of the inaugural event in 2024, this year’s Grand National Recruitment Day welcomed 14 TLC participants, doubling the number from the previous year and reinforcing the positive impact the partnership is having within the local community.
Hosted at Aintree Racecourse, the day gave participants the opportunity to experience the venue first hand, learn about the roles available during one of the UK’s most prestigious sporting events and gain a genuine insight into life at CleanEvent. Venue Presentation Manager Mark Dulson introduced the event, sharing his own career journey and explaining the opportunities available across the business, while People & Safety Director Gill Haley highlighted CleanEvent’s commitment to supporting and developing its people. People & Safety Coordinator Corey Watts also shared his inspiring progression from frontline cleaner to management, demonstrating the career pathways available within the company.
Participants were then taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the racecourse, giving them the chance to familiarise themselves with the working environment before their first day. From collecting uniforms to visiting staff facilities and work areas, the experience was designed to build confidence, reduce anxiety and help participants feel part of the team before starting work.
As part of the partnership, every attendee was offered a guaranteed interview with CleanEvent, removing one of the biggest barriers faced by many people returning to employment and ensuring everyone had the opportunity to demonstrate their potential.
The impact of the day was reflected in the feedback received from participants, many of whom spoke about the confidence the experience had given them and the optimism it had created for their future.
Mark Dulson commented:
“It has been fantastic to welcome twice as many participants as last year. Being able to offer employment opportunities to local people is something we’re incredibly proud of, and it’s rewarding to see the confidence and enthusiasm that events like this create. The partnership with Transform Lives Company continues to grow from strength to strength, and we’re excited to build on its success.
Supporting local communities and creating meaningful opportunities remains an important part of The CleanEvent Way. By working alongside organisations such as Transform Lives Company, we’re helping people develop confidence, gain valuable work experience and take positive steps towards long-term employment.
