Employing 1,110 people, CleanEvent is principally involved in the hospitality and entertainment sector, specialising in services to sports, leisure, retail, healthcare, kitchen support and global events, with a £20 million turnover. CleanEvent’s clients include Tottenham Hotspur FC, The Hippodrome Casino, ACC Liverpool Group, Eastgate Shopping Centre and Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The company’s push for the accreditation was driven by a need for further uniformity of standard across the business. SafeContractor accreditation and the Sustainability Gold Award underpins CleanEvent’s commitment to safety and the minimising of negative impacts on the environment and wider society.

Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor said: “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.”

“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that CleanEvent has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector. SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”

Business Development Director, Julian Kelly commented, “We’re driven to continuously improving health and safety standards across the CleanEvent business. This accreditation gives our clients peace of mind that we’re a safety-conscious company that is committed to sustainable and ethical best practice.”
