Renowned as one of the UK’s most prestigious entertainment venues, has hosted a diverse range of world-class events, including concerts, family shows, comedy acts, and sports championships. Notable events include the Kylie Minogue World Tour, the Liverpool International Horse Show, the 2019 Netball World Cup and the globally celebrated Eurovision Song Contest in 2023.
ACC Liverpool
This venue offers a 1,375-seat auditorium complemented by breakout rooms, often utilised in conjunction with the Exhibition Centre. Together, they provide over 7,000m² of versatile exhibition space.
Exhibition Centre Liverpool
Added in 2015, this facility completed the group’s portfolio, making ACC Liverpool the only purpose-built, interconnected arena, convention and exhibition centre in Europe.

Selection of CleanEvent Services
Our strong local presence and aligned waste management proposal were key to our success in the tender and subsequent mobilisation. Our commitment to sustainability resonated with The ACC Liverpool Group’s objectives. The result was an initial three-year contract awarded to CleanEvent Services in 2018 to manage various soft services, including:
- Daily Venue and Estate Cleaning
- Event Cleaning
- Washroom Services
- Waste Management Services
- Periodic and High-Level Cleaning Services
- Deep Cleaning Programs
- Consumable Supply and Management
This contract has been the subject of extension and we have been proud partners for the past 6 years.
Challenges & Solutions
The diversity of events at The ACC Liverpool Group presented unique challenges in equipping cleaning staff with the necessary tools and machinery to maintain high standards. We quickly addressed these needs, ensuring staff were well-prepared to meet the venue’s demands.
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges. We worked closely with The ACC Liverpool Group, holding open and honest discussions to navigate the evolving situation. The use of the Government Furlough Scheme allowed the venue to scale back on staffing, with us taking full responsibility for venue hygiene.

Results and Achievements
A tailored set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were developed at the contract’s inception, playing a crucial role in the monthly review and reporting process, and feedback received has been exceptional. High-profile events, such as the Labour Party Conference 2023 and Eurovision 2023, received glowing praise, with the latter achieving a KPI score of 100%.
We have provided The ACC Liverpool Group with a reliable team both onsite and at the Head Office. The strong, professional relationship built by our Venue Contract Manager, has facilitated seamless communication and innovation, particularly in relation to sustainability initiatives.
