The ACC Liverpool Group

The ACC Liverpool Group is made up of three distinctive, but interconnected venues on one campus:

The M&S Bank Arena Liverpool is one of the most prestigious entertainment venues in the UK, staging world class concerts, family, comedy and sporting events. The venue has hosted events as diverse as the 2018 Kylie Minogue World Tour, the Liverpool International Horse Show, Disney on Ice and the 2019 Netball World Cup.

ACC Liverpool consists of a 1,375 seated auditorium and associated break out rooms. The convention centre is often used in conjunction with the Exhibition Centre to provide over 7000m2 of exhibition space.

In 2015, Exhibition Centre Liverpool was added to The ACC Liverpool Group’s existing portfolio, making it the only purpose built, interconnected arena, convention and exhibition centre in Europe.

The ACC Liverpool Group has been awarded Gold in the Best UK conference Centre category at the industry M&IT awards in the past six years, and holds prestigious awards for green credentials, corporate social responsibility and sustainable working.

The ACC Liverpool Group Objective


The ACC Liverpool Group were looking for:

  • A service partner to undertake the management of the cleaning and waste requirements at the group.
  • A contractor who would provide the ACC with innovation, forward thinking, and planning.
  • A company that works with other businesses in and around Liverpool and has a good presence in the North/North West area.

CleanEvent were chosen as The ACC Liverpool Group’s management felt the team made a good impression.  The ACC Liverpool is a sustainable venue and CleanEvent’s presentation on waste management fulfilled many of The ACC Liverpool Group’s objectives.

A 3 year contract was awarded to CleanEvent to deliver on a range of soft services including:

  • Daily Venue and Estate Cleaning
  • Event Cleaning
  • Washroom Services
  • Waste Management Services
  • Periodic and high level cleaning services
  • Deep Cleaning Programme

Consumable supply and management



Equipping the cleaning staff to perform at their best has always been a challenge at venues a diverse as The ACC Liverpool Group. Having the correct machinery to support staff, and provide all areas with a professional and high standard clean was essential. CleanEvent understood the needs and requirements of the venue and this was picked up and resolved quickly.

More recently, the Coronavirus pandemic presented a huge challenge for The ACC Liverpool Group. CleanEvent supported the venue during this time by having some open and honest conversations and then reacted quickly and efficiently to what was required. The Venue Contract Managers scaled back on staffing levels through the use of the Government Furlough scheme, and took responsibility for all the day to day cleaning during this time. 



A bespoke set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were developed with The  ACC Liverpool Group at the contract start, and form an integral part of the monthly review and reporting process. Feedback has been better than we could have imagined. Key high profile events including Labour’s 2018 conference and BBC Worldwide 2019 were highly praised by our client with the latter being awarded a KPI Score of 100%.

CleanEvent have presented The ACC Liverpool Group with a reliable team both onsite and at Head Office. Our Venue Contract Managers for the ACC Liverpool Group have built up a strong, professional working relationship with the client and has assisted in becoming a single point contact on all the cleaning services provided, whilst showing innovation, and bringing ideas on how the venue can become more sustainable. 

CleanEvent’s contract was due to expire in May of 2021, but it has been extended for a further two years, with the addition of all external landscaping services for the venue. This additional service supports The ACC Liverpool Group in their objective to reduce the number of contractors onsite, and allows CleanEvent to become a truly holistic service provider.

The venue has served as a showcase for our activities in the sector. This has led to further expansion of our presence in indoor venues and auditoria in the region and across the country.
